Hi there! My name is Breana Trejo-Quibelan, and I’m a designer, photographer, and lifelong creative currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Raised in the Bay and formally educated in the Pacific Northwest, my approach to design has been shaped as much by the places I’ve lived and the people I’ve met, as it has by my formal education. Moving between different communities taught me how to listen, adapt, and recognize that good design rarely looks the same from one person, or one community, to the next.

That belief sits at the heart of my work: I design with “the other” in mind. For me, design isn’t simply about fulfilling my own desire to make something beautiful or interesting. It’s about understanding who something is for, what they need, and how thoughtful visual communication can serve them well. I believe the best designers bring their own perspective to the table while remaining curious enough to make room for someone else’s.

My professional experience spans long-form print and digital design, web design, brand development, typography, content creation, photography, illustration, research and strategy, social media, project management, and client collaboration. I especially enjoy work that lives somewhere between the structured and the expressive: where strategy, storytelling, and visual craft have to work together.

For more than 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of designing for non-profit organizations throughout California and Oregon. Today, I serve as a Communications Manager, Webmaster, and Graphic Designer at Pacific School of Religion, where I get to bring together design, communication, technology, and a deep appreciation for the communities I serve.

My creative perspective is also deeply personal. Growing up in a multigenerational household and navigating my own mixed ancestry taught me early on that there is rarely just one way to see a person, a place, or a story. That awareness continues to shape the way I approach both design and life: with curiosity, empathy, and a willingness to listen.

When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me wandering a walkable city, loitering at a neighborhood coffee shop, taking photographs, making something with my hands, or sitting around a campfire in good company.
